“To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:” Colossians 1:27

Biblical phrases like the hope of Glory can seem mysterious until we understand their meaning. The Bible gives us a great deal of help if we allow the scriptures to interpret themsleves.

The Biblical definition of glory is described for us in other scriptures as something heavy; something that carries a weight of value; something of abundance and something worthy of honor. It is used in various applications, such as describing heaven, angels and Jesus. “We beheld his glory…” (Jn.1:14). The wide range of applications of the word glory makes it clear that it is not a natural human virtue, but a God-given, God-bestowed, and God-honored virtue which is celebrated throughout heaven!

Surprising or not, according to the above scripture, that is the same glory that has been imparted to you when you were born again!Did you realize that because of Jesus, you carry weight in heaven, that your prayers are valued and celebrated? That your words are honored in heaven? Are you also aware that the reality of Christ in you carries the riches of God’s very own glory, and it can never be diminished in its value, tarnished in its splendor, or become worn out by time?!? Are you also aware of the status that glory has given you…?

If words mean anything

The glory of Christ in you gives us the same spiritual DNA as the resurrected Christ; as joint heirs – not sub-heirs with Him (Ro. 8:17); and empowers us with His own resurrection power! That is the truth that is also born out in other scriptures like Ephesians 1:19-23!

The reality is this… God has equipped us for this final hour of the Church, and it’s time to get excited about His next move as He wraps up the Church Age in glorious splendor, showcasing His Church to a world that needs His redemption and the glory He offers to everyone, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory!

With Love,

Pastor Tom
