“For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, then the full corn in the ear.” Mark 4:28

The Human Spirit is Like Soil

Jesus taught us that the human spirit is like soil. Soil provides an active environment for seeds to reproduce after their own kind. The human spirit was designed to reproduce the Seeds of the Word of God after its own kind. The life of God is in the Word of God. Jesus said, “The words that I speak to you, they are spirit and they are life.” John 6:63 When we hear and believe the seeds of eternal life, those words are planted in our spirit and they will produce divine life in us. Jesus called this divine life, Eternal Life (John 5:25-26).

The Human Spirit Produces Whatever is Planted in It

It’s easier to understand how God manifests blessings in our lives when we understand how our spirit is designed by God. Our spirit, like soil, will reproduce whatever is planted in it. When we hear God’s Words of life, hope, healing, blessing, strength, and many other good things provided for us in God’s Word, those words become planted in us as we hear them. When we believe them and begin speaking them to ourselves, they are conceived in our hearts and begin to release their life-giving power in our spirit! Proverbs 4:22 says, “they (God’s Words) are life… and health to all our flesh.” In short, the human spirit is ready to produce life; first the blade, then the ear, then the full corn in the ear.”

The Word of God is Seed

Jesus likened the Word of God to that of a seed. In fact, I Peter 1:23 says that the Word of God is incorruptible seed! When we hear the Word of God and believe it, it is planted in our spirit. Then, our spirit provides the Word of God the same environment that soil provides a seed. Jesus said, “When it (the word of the kingdom of God) is sown…it grows up and becomes…”

If you need provision, such as healing, faith, hope or anything else, find a scripture that covers your need and begin to focus on it, speak it out loud, believe it, give it first place in your priorities, and let it renew your mind until you identify with the provision as more real than the need. The Word of God conceived in the human spirit will bring forth the life that’s in the Word of God and it will overcome your need with God’s provision.
