“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” Mt. 24:35

There are two things that the Bible says will never fail or pass away: the love of God and the Word of God. I Corinthians 13:8 says, “Love never fails…” Jesus said, “My words shall not pass away.” Not surprisingly, these are the two areas where the enemy concentrates the most. He does everything He can to steal the Word away from us, and he does everything he can to prevent us from walking in love.

Stay with The Word

When Jesus defeated the enemy in the wilderness, He defeated him with the written Word of God! The Word didn’t fail! When the Pharisees misquoted the scriptures to Him, he exposed them by applying the Word correctly. The Word of God didn’t fail! When Jesus stood before Pilate, He was a doer of the Word and Pilate could find no fault in Him. The Word of God didn’t fail! When Jesus hung on the cross, He quoted from Psalm 22, demonstrating forever that the Word of God didn’t fail!

Our Unfailing Foundation

Jesus compared His Word to a solid foundation upon which we can build our lives. He said, “whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:  and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.” (Mt. 7:24) Storms come and go, the winds of trends and cultures will rise and fall, but if we build our lives on the Word of God, we will endure the storms, the floods and the winds of this life because we wisely built our life upon the Word which cannot fail!

There is a reason why God’s Word will never fail. It has to do with the supremacy of His Word. After all, it is the Word that created the universe and holds everything in it together.

Therefore, we can conclude that since all things were created by His Word, therefore, all things are subject to His Word. When we build our lives on that Word, we have His guarantee that our foundation will hold firm. His Word guarantees it, yes; but it’s His love for each of us that makes it all so beautiful!

With Love,
