“Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ…” I Peter 1:18-19

Objects of God’s Love – Valued in Heaven

One of the great themes of the Bible is that we are the objects of God’s love! Even when we fell into sin, we were still valuable to God. So much so, that God redeemed us with the precious Blood of His only begotten Son. Our value to God is something that we didn’t determine. God did. The price paid for a thing determines its value to the purchaser. So, we have a valid record in heaven. Jesus was the price paid for us! In order to understand our value, we first have to determine how much Jesus is valued by the Father.

Love will Pay the Ultimate Price

When someone loves luxury cars and pays some serious dollars for one, it states that the buyer is more willing to have the car than his money! The car didn’t determine its value to the buyer; the buyer did! It’s the level of love for a thing that determines its value to the purchaser. For God so loved you, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever (that’s you) believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life! John 3:16

The word redeem means to purchase, or to buy back. When man fell into sin and totally corrupted himself, God still valued us. Broken, corrupted, sin-soaked and all – God sent His Son to buy us back from the god of this world. His own Son was the price that God paid! God determined your value to be at least as much as Jesus! That may sound like an exaggeration, but that’s exactly what the Gospel declares! We were not redeemed with corruptible things like gold or silver… but with the precious Blood of Christ!

Beyond the Scope of Man!

Someone once said that if Jesus had never lived, no man could have invented Him. I agree! Think of it – is there any philosophy or religion, other than Christianity, that has resurrection to be its declared intent? No, not one of them. What mortal race could have come up with that? Death cannot produce life. Sin cannot produce righteousness and darkness cannot produce light! The precious Blood, which is the ultimate statement of God’s love for all mankind, still speaks on our behalf in heaven. It speaks of mercy and acceptance! It’s the Blood of Jesus that declares our value in heaven, not our works – good or bad! It’s His love that placed an incorruptible, everlasting value on you before you were even born! Let His Blood speak on your behalf today, and enjoy the love that gives you value you beyond comprehension!

With Love,
